Marty"s
commitments
Reduce the quantity of CO2 emissions by choosing MARTY parquet
Our parquet production is oriented towards local woods: oak, beech, chestnut... so many types of woods that, besides guaranteeing quality, also
guarantee environmental responsibility. Each year, the French forest grows by 30 000 hectares. Sustainably managed, these forests are not only
harvested, but also reforested. Thus, parquet is one of the only construction materials that comes from a natural and totally renewable raw
material. Choosing parquet means contributing to improvements in the management of forests and therefore reducing the amount of harmful
CO2 emissions. As proof of its commitment, MARTY has been respecting the PEFC since 2001.
French manufacturing to lower the impact on the environment
MARTY parquet needs very few transformations and therefore consumes little fossil fuel energy. Further, using local wood means MARTY
parquets have an exemplary energy record, far better than other floorings (or other parquets) that need to be transported over long distances.
For example, a parquet made in France using French timber generates 19 times less greenhouse gas (equivalent of 1 ton of CO2 for 1,000 m2)
than a parquet produced in China (equivalent of 19 tons of CO2 for 1,000 m2). MARTY parquet is therefore environmentally-friendly flooring
from all points of view.
At each step of production, from the tree to the floor strips, the impact on the environment remains low.
Sustainability and recycling
MARTY parquet (solid or engineered) is resistant and durable flooring which can be sanded down to look like new again without having to
replace it, and this several times over. Above and beyond its durability, the parquet can also be recycled and retransformed. Thus, the waste
generated by the production process, just like with parquets at the end of their life cycles, can not only be recovered but also, and especially,
recycled and used by other industries. The Real Wood label makes it easier to identify "genuine wood" parquets compared to other floorings.
Recently conducted studies have shown the very low emission rates of French engineered wood flooring. Engineered parquets (with latestgeneration glues) have been tested according to the norms in application (EN ISO 16000...) and on the basis of the recommended thresholds of the very exacting AFSSET Protocol.
Marty parquets are made in France. To meet to very high quality requirements, Marty has modern, exemplary and flexible production facilities in Cuzorn, in the Southwest of France.
